Conference Banquet: Wednesday, June 22, 2011

Buses for the Conference Banquet depart from Tressider (ahead and to your left as you exit Dinkelspiel) immediately after the closing plenary. Be there by 6:00 p.m. sharp!

A gourmet buffet of California cuisine, hosted at the nearby Computer History Museum; includes admission to the museum exhibits. Come help us wrap up DH2011 in style, celebrate our student bursary winners, and make plans for the coming year in the digital humanities.

  • Sonoma Wine Country
    A full-day trip to Jack London State Park, a picnic lunch, and wine-tasting visits to two Sonoma Valley wineries. Led by Long Le-Khac, PhD Candidate in English, laborer in the Stanford Literary Lab at Stanford, and Local Wine Sipper.

  • Literary San Francisco
    A full-day bus tour of some of the City’s most notable landmarks, focusing on literary, cinematic and cultural history. Includes lunch. Led by fourth-generation Northern Californian Glen Worthey.

  • Silicon Valley History (half-day, 8 a.m. – 1 p.m.)
    A half-day bus tour of the history of Silicon Valley, from the garages that spawned some of the high-tech greats of the late 20th century to the enormous campuses that host those of the early 21st. Includes brunch. Leslie Berlin, historian of the Stanford University Libraries’ Silicon Valley Archives.
